- Broke his 2021 Sr. World Record on SC-101 "Five to go" at the World Speed Shoot with a time of 9.48 seconds in RFRI.

2023

2023 - Alabama State Steel Challenge Championship - Overall High SR - Alabama Resident.

2023 - Broke his own Sr. World Record on SC-102 "Show Down"  with a time of 6.39 seconds.

2023 - Set a Senior World World Record SC-106 "Pendulum" with a time of 9.78 seconds. ** Note that that record was broken by another shooter later in that match.

2023 - World Speed Shoot - Finished 7th overall in RFRI on SC-102 "Showdown" with a time of 6.39 seconds (Avg string time of 1.59 sec.)

Vance has a Business Marketing degree from Troy University and has attended Executive Training classes at Harvard University and Babson College. 

Vance served on the Shelby County Alabama Parks & Recreation Authority for 19 years, of which he spent eight years as Chairman.

Vance currently is retired and lives with Gen, his wife of 37 years, on Lake Martin in Alexander City, Alabama.

Robert holds a B.A. degree from the University of Alabama and M.A. degrees from Georgetown University and George Mason University. He worked as a writer, editor, and publications manager for more than 30 years, including 17 years as a writer, editor, editorial division chief, and editorial consultant with the National Transportation Safety Board in Washington, DC.
